Technical Project Manager

to join our project team at a major Federal agency.

The Technical Project Manager will provide project planning, coordination, and oversight of an IT modernization project for a federal agency client. Focus will be on defining the strategy and using it to plan, execute, and manage the scope, schedule, and resources for designing, developing, and implementing the project. In this role, you will ensure that projects are completed to specification, within an established timeframe and budget using your industry expertise in project planning and resource management. This individual will also be the primary point of contact with the federal client.

US Citizenship is required for this role. In addition, the selected applicant must submit to a government background investigation and be favorably adjudicated before their first day.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.

Meet with internal and external stakeholders to communicate and document the project progress.

Actively identify and mitigate customer and project level risks.

Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.

Create management, communication plans and processes.

Define project responsibilities with stakeholders.

Participate in how the budget and staff are allocated for the project.

Hold regular technical project meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding the project.

Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for the project.

Collaborate with the client Program Manager, Project Managers, and Leads to achieve client objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, preparing, and completing action plans, implementing quality standards, and removing barriers on critical paths.

Working with the Engineering SME, research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the client.

Develop a plan for post-implementation operations and maintenance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile (e.g. CSM) certifications.

A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Technical Project Manager.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to anticipate challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.

Ability to work with and communicate effectively with clients and team members (consultants, technical staff, subject experts) to define project activities and resolve issues.

Strong customer service orientation.

Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.

Comfortable working directly with senior Federal technical staff.

Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Experience working with federal agency offices including the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in project or business management or related technical field required.

Internal title/grade: Project Manager, Grade 6Salary Range: $93,400 - $125,000

All individuals being hired to work for TCG must submit to, and successfully pass, a pre-employment background investigation prior to reporting for their first day of work. The pre-employment background investigation will include verification of employment and education, as well as, a criminal and DMV check.

Additional documentation and background checks will also be required for positions that require clearance from the Federal government.
