$250K-$350KAbout the PositionThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the financial operations of Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington (EGNW). The CFO is responsible for Goodwill’s strategic integration of financial and systems processes, serving as a thought partner for long term strategy and day to day management.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Serve as a strategic business partner to the President & CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.Provide oversight and leadership on financial controls, financial close, and budget preparation.Direct EGNW’s financial and budget activities to fund all operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.Implement and lead a financial and business operations platform to support data-driven decision-making, and the tracking of performance metrics.Oversee accounting and finance matters, including financial statements, budgets, weekly metrics, and other analysis that inform decision-making aligned with strategic priorities.Provide strategic and financial oversight for all real estate and property activities, including leases, owned-assets, and development projects.Collaborate with auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion of statutory compliance activities.Maintain and improve internal control systems to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.Provide management support to the Investment, Finance, and Audit committees of the Board.Build productive relationships with key external partners, including banks, investment advisors, custodians, attorneys, auditors, and other related third parties.Oversee the investment portfolio and cash management policies.Partner with the leadership team to provide financial modelling and recommendations around business decisions and operations. Serve as a trusted finance partner to support success across partner teams.Evaluate risk management practices, ensure appropriate insurance, and review and negotiate contracts.Serve as the compliance officer responsible for maintaining corporate records in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Build a high-performing team and lead with authenticity. Attract and develop talent within the organization. You are curious, have a growth mindset, and are always seeking ways to grow as a leader and business professional.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field is required.Master’s degree or CPA preferred.Skills and Experience:15+ years of experience managing finance departments, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.Relevant, hands-on experience or familiarity with the nonprofit industry, gained through board service or other associations.Hands-on experience managing large retail operation, including transportation, physical and online stores, and frontline employees.Experience managing a real estate portfolio of leased and owned properties, including negotiating transactions and overseeing real estate strategy for future development.Proven ability to drive operational efficiencies and cost management initiatives in partnership with relevant stakeholders.Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards and tax laws.Demonstrated ability to lead strategic financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting functions within an organization.In-depth understanding of industry-specific risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements.Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, including budgeting, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and capital planning management.Demonstrated strategic leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Executive presence, high ethical standards, and the ability to lead by example.Ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors and communicate clearly in a boardroom setting.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create clarity, direction, and prioritization using data.General Description of BenefitsA health plan that includes medical, dental, vision and prescription coverage100% Employer-paid life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and long term disability insurance (for salaried employee)Voluntary supplemental coverage for life, accident, illness, and short- and long-term disabilityFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA) PlanRoth and 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan programPaid vacation, (9) holiday and sick timeLimited paid time off for Jury Duty and Bereavement LeaveEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Job TrainingEveryone is WelcomeWhen you join Evergreen Goodwill, you join a truly vibrant community.
