Periodontology/Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity Position Description
The Division of Periodontology in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty member with a strong emphasis on research, clinical education, and innovation. The appointment is expected to be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Academic rank and salary will commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Applicants should have a strong record and future promise in teaching and scholarship in periodontics and be able to join a vibrant program recognized for educating leaders in research, patient care, and service. Responsibilities will include research, clinical, and didactic teaching and mentoring in both predoctoral and advanced graduate education programs; participation in ongoing national and international continuing education programs; scholarly activities; and service to the university and community. Patient care opportunities will be available in the intramural Harvard Dental Center Faculty Group Practice. Basic Qualifications
Applicants must hold a DMD or DDS (or equivalent degree) and demonstrate clinical experience in the field of periodontology. Highly respected within their profession as individuals of outstanding scientific competence and integrity. Awareness of and aptitude to understand, respect, and adapt to cultural and identity-based differences within group environments appropriately and effectively. Knowledge of and commitment to concepts and issues tied to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Skills related to creating and supporting an environment that allows for inclusion, effective intercultural engagement, personal humility, and authenticity. Additional Qualifications
