Waldorf School of the Peninsula (Nursery – Grade 12)
celebrates bringing Waldorf education to Northern California for 40 years. Our school has two beautiful campuses: early childhood through grade 5 in Los Altos, and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our school is a full member of, and accredited by, the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. The school is also fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.We are seeking dedicated, energetic and creative professionals to join our nursery teaching team. Daily hours of position are 10 am to 5:30 pm. The compensation for this position is $23 an hour.Responsibilities:
Each employee is responsible for exhibiting good communication, problem solving and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive attitude. In collaboration with Waldorf School of the Peninsula administrative staff and early childhood faculty:Promote positive relationships with all children and adultsCreate a nurturing environment for young children and familiesDevelop partnerships with colleagues to establish a cohesive early childhood communityAssist Lead Teachers and Extended Care Director as informedPerform light housekeeping and child maintenance dutiesMinimum Qualifications:
6 ECE Units or enrolled in an ECE course.Minimum age: 18 years oldMust be able to perform and meet the physical demands required in this capacity (ability to sit on the floor, bend at the waist, kneel and/or stop most of the time)Complete a health screening (no more than 60 days prior to hire date) and negative Tuberculosis test (no more than 1 year prior to hire date)Meet the immunization requirements required by the state of CA for early childhood employeesMust have a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtainComplete a California criminal record clearance via DOJ, FBI, and CACI clearance
