About The Role

We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager who lives and breathes data-based product thinking, to turn our reading assessments into gamified experiences that kids love, and orienting our company towards using metrics to find insights about the product and the learner.In this role, you will actively define and deliver features, processes, and optimizations that help us innovate literacy solutions for learners from underserved demographics. You will be responsible for on-time delivery and release that is in-line with the organization’s short- and long-term product goals. Working alongside researchers and curriculum experts, you will be the product driver for using data, assessments, and testing to build the best possible learning experience overall, and also personally for each individual learner. You will help identify user pain points and value-creation opportunities and be the executional driver amongst a cross-functional team of design, engineering, research, and content.You’ll focus on:Growing our assessments into compelling gamified experiences for students across the nation by partnering with scientists at ROAR StanfordTranslating the learners’ scores into powerful and actionable insights for Teachers and EducatorsHelping us build out our internal data analytics and reporting toolsManaging compliance for our log in and data collection experiencesYour work will be pivotal to shaping how Magpie Literacy achieves and scales learner impact through contextually relevant instruction that is loved by Learners, Parents, and Educators.What You’ll Do:

Drive product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iterationEvaluate new product opportunities and bring forward proposals (buy, build, partner solutions) for new capabilities with data and users at the forefrontCoordinate cross-functional alignment on strategic initiatives for the productAnticipate bottlenecks, make tradeoffs and balance the program needs, for instance user needs, against versus technical or operational constraintsPerform qualitative and quantitative research to discover feature ideas and validate them before developmentWork closely with UI/UX designers to ensure an excellent user experience in our productWork with engineers to help guide feature developmentMaintain product backlogPerform quantitative analysis on features’ performance and find opportunities for optimizationBe responsible for hitting the key performance indicators with a focus on learner growth (i.e., product efficacy or learner outcomes) as well as usual engagement, ease of adoption, user onboarding, and traction metrics.This Job is For You If You Have:

4-5 years product management experienceOrganized, detail-oriented team leadership with strong project management skillsStructured, collaborative, and clear written and oral communication skills, especially in conveying analytical concepts to cross-functional teammates with expertise in disciplines outside of traditional techStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExperience in design and hypothesis-driven product developmentA track record of a strong bias for action, generating results as a PM in high performing environments, balanced with a strategy-level perspectiveA desire to make the world a better place through technology and reading educationExpertise in applying user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisionsAn instinct for creating simple and intuitive user experiencesA track record as a voracious, curious, and active learnerA knack for self-starting, rolling up your sleeves to do the work, being resourceful and innovative in finding answers in an ambiguous situation.Our Ideal Candidate has Experience in:
