Still University's Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) is seeking a full-time exempt Assistant Specialty Care Unit Director of Prosthodontics Dentistry. This position will manage and mentor MOSDOH students to ensure the attainment of clinical competency, teach students the fundamentals of Prosthodontics, and assure the provisioning of high-quality prosthodontic services to patients.Major Job Duties:Mentoring and evaluating students in prosthodontic dentistry procedures on patients.Establish procedures for prosthodontics in conjunction with Specialty Care Unit Director.Communicate with the Specialty Care Unit director about educational goals, essential experiences, and competencies for student experiences.Complete Administrative Reports as directed.Assure students' and patients' safety by reporting deficiencies to the Vice Dean of Clinical Education, Operations, and Community Partnerships.Assure clinical competency for students in periodontics.Supervise prosthodontic residents/fellows as needed.Provide indirect supervision of dental assistant(s) and performance reviews to the Dental Clinic Manager.Provide didactic and laboratory instruction to pre-clinical students in Kirksville and D3 and D4 students in St. Louis.Perform dental procedures on patients as needed.Job Responsibilities:Track student progress toward attainment of clinical competency and communicate progress & deficiencies periodically to the Vice Dean of Clinical Operations, Clinic Education & Community Partnerships.Ensure patient and student safety and report any deficiencies to the Vice Dean of Clinical Operations, Clinical Education & Community Partnerships.Participate in calibration activities, including semi-annual faculty advance.Participate in ATSU/MOSDOH committee activities.Potential for intermittent on-call and other outreach activities after hours.Other duties as assigned.Education/Experience:D.D.S. or D.M.D. with Specialty Certification in Endodontics.At least two years of experience in a dental teaching environment.Skills:Excellent communication and organizational skills.Self-directed and takes initiative.Highly skilled in endodontics.Personal Characteristics:Diplomatic and organized.Adaptable and motivated.Able to work independently and team-oriented with strong mentoring skills.Other:Travel to Kirksville will be required.A current Missouri State Dental License is required.ATSU offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverages.
