Senior Web Developer

A brief POV on the role:I am focused on building technology solutions that achieve business needs of the client. I work with AM’s, PM’s, UX, and search to understand the vision of the project and ensure I match the proper solutions with the budget and use-cases for the project. I ensure well documented technical specifications are in place. I regularly am in front of clients consulting and guiding them around solutions that meet their business needs. I enjoy overcoming creative challenges and look to find ways to develop ideas that fall within time and effort considerations. I look ahead to consider future use cases to limit re-work. Because I am accountable for the solutions - I remain highly connected to the project ensuring a successful outcome.

Key functions:Build websites that allow for easy editability for novice administrators, as well as straightforward maintenance.Develop code that adheres to project requirements primarily using HTML, CSS/LESS/SASS, XML/JSON, AJAX, JavaScript, and PHP.Extend Bootstrap or similar framework to make for efficient code theming and customization.Design, create, and manage relational databases utilizing MySQL.Work with creative/UX/project managers to help determine best programming practices used for a project.Perform quality control and testing of web programming to ensure expected functionality across various browsers and devices, and eliminate compatibility issues.Adhere to version control policies, accessibility standards, and best practices for inclusive user experience.Troubleshoot development issues and work with cross-functional teams to discuss issues and/or the impact of their specific development requests on the project.Stay current with industry technologies and research emerging ones, with a willingness to share that knowledge.Implement SEO best practices to ensure websites are search-engine friendly, optimizing meta tags, headers, and URLs.Optimize website performance, including improving load times, reducing server response times, and optimizing images and code.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and workflows to support knowledge sharing and onboarding.

What we’re looking for:A solid understanding of current front-end development techniques as well as configuring and customizing various CMS systems.The ability to see the bigger picture and avoid using inline styles and compartmentalizing code blocks as much as possible.Experience developing in PHP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, as well as a basic understanding of database design are a plus.Familiarity with responsive design implementation.Strong understanding of UX for both web and mobile experiences.Understanding of git and git flow and typical versioning practices.Experience working with custom themes on the WordPress CMS, as well as Laravel.Experience translating Sketch, XD, and Figma files into website code.Ability to empathize with client’s needs and translate into an exceptional result along with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design and development projects, illustrating proficiency in translating designs into functional websites.

The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years of professional experience in a development role.
