Collaborating with the care team, this role promotes the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the CardioVascular Center. ORDegree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Radiologic Technologist (RT) Certification

ORRegistered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification.2. Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification within six (6) months of hire.3. Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within six (6) months of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification.Duties and Responsibilities:Prepares the cardiac catheterization lab for procedures, including setting up the sterile procedure table and ensuring all necessary supplies and apparel are available.Assists in clean up and turnover of room in preparation for following procedure.Assists in preparing patient for cardiac catheterization procedures, including prepping access site(s) and properly draping patient while maintaining standards of sterility.Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots cardiac catheterization equipment, ensuring proper functioning during procedures.Accurately documents procedure charges, supply charges, fluoroscopy time and radiation dose, and contrast dosage.Collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a sterile environment within the cath lab, adhering to infection control protocols.Ensures proper radiation safety protocols are followed.Notifies physician of elevated radiation doses intraprocedurally.Participates in quality assurance initiatives to improve the efficiency and safety of cardiac catheterization procedures.Assists in managing supplies and equipment within the cath lab.Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members.Prepares to respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance during complications.Physical Requirements:Ability to work within the semi-restricted and restricted environment of the Operating Room and other Perioperative support areas.Stands under hot surgical lights for prolonged periods of time.Possibility of muscle strain from lifting patients and heavy equipment.Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood and bodily fluids, extreme noise levels, radiation, lasers, drastic fluctuations in ambient temperature, etc.Ability to wear a protective lead apron for extended periods of time.Requires frequent lifting and positioning of patients, materials, equipment, power tools, instruments, etc.Skills & Abilities:Willingness to participate in on-call rotations as required.Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.Attention to detail and unwavering commitment to patient safety.Knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and equipment operation strongly preferred.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
