You'll collaborate with a talented group of engineers and security experts dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of security and building high-throughput systems.Job ResponsibilitiesOur Authorization Services are highly data-intensive, requiring us to tackle numerous classic backend challenges to achieve high throughput and low latency. We focus on building high-performance systems that can handle large volumes of data in real-time, ensuring our services are both robust and efficient. As an Entry-level Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Design and Development:

Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend services and APIs to support our authorization systems.Performance Optimization:

Contribute to the optimization of our systems for high throughput and low latency, ensuring efficient processing of large volumes of data in real-time.Security Implementation:

Implement security best practices to uphold the principle of least privilege and enhance the overall security of our authorization services.Code Quality and Testing:

Write clean, maintainable code and develop automated tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of our backend services.Troubleshooting and Debugging:

Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation and availability of our authorization systems.Collaboration:

Work closely with senior engineers, security experts, and other team members to understand requirements, provide technical solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++ or similar.Basic understanding of writing tests and debugging code to ensure code quality and reliability.Preferred Qualifications:Previous internship or project experience in backend development or a related field.Basic understanding of backend technologies and frameworks, including RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database systems (SQL and NoSQL).Basic knowledge of security principles and practices, particularly in the context of backend systems.Understanding of high-throughput and high-availability systems, including techniques for optimizing performance and scalability.Diversity & Inclusion StatementByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
