About the roleAs an Enterprise Security Architect, you will play a key role in effectively designing defensible network architectures, builds & configurations, security platforms and automation, assisting in secure tool and product development, and will help establish security standards and guidelines across the enterprise. This role will lead security project work with technology peers for successful delivery and coach technology staff on appropriate security standards, processes, protocols and needs as they implement new technology into the organization.What You'll DoWorks out and designs complex security solutions.Leads projects to implement secure enterprise systems and identifies issues that could compromise data integrity or security.Develops security policies, procedures, and guidelines and recommends necessary changes to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and privacy laws.Creates and implements enterprise security architecture models.Utilizes open communication and managerial courage to ensure standards and goals are respected.Advises engineering and development teams on security best practices and design.Leads security-related projects from inception to completion and coaches technology staff on appropriate security protocols.Analyzes complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Ensures an organization's security strategy aligns with business goals.Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience:10+ years of experience in an IT/Security related field, 5 of which as a security architect.In-depth understanding of security concepts.Knowledge of how business, engineering, IT, and security processes align.Able to anticipate challenges and steer the company towards growth.In-depth knowledge of:Database security concepts and practicesSecuring data in transit, at rest and accessCyber attacks (i.e., SQL/NoSQL injections, buffer overflow, etc.)Data types and protection methodsDefining data flowsApplicable regulatory compliance requirementsDiscovering and classifying data and databasesDesigning, creating, and maintaining data storage systemsDeveloping application programming interfaces (APIs)Structured query language (SQL) and similarData structures, modeling, integration, security, optimization, etc.Data warehouse/lakesNIST FrameworksCompensationCompensation may be adjusted depending on work location.For Washington D.C. based hires: Estimated annual salary of $154,000 - $167,000.For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $162,000 - $198,000.EquityThis role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan.BenefitsCloudflare offers a complete package of benefits and programs to support you and your family.
