The Executive Director leads and is responsible for the organization's financial, human resources, facility, technology, and administrative operations with a $7.4 million budget and 140,000 square-foot campus. The Executive Director manages approximately 27 full-time and 34 part-time employees and reports to the Board of Trustees through the President. The ideal Executive Director will be a leader and team player working with clergy, staff, lay leadership, and the congregation-at-large, all following Congregation Beth Yeshurun’s mission, bylaws, and policies.QUALIFICATIONSThe Executive Director of the congregation should demonstrate the following:Strong work ethic and staff management.A team-oriented approach focused on achieving collective success.Strong foundation in financial management, board development, membership outreach, fundraising, and facilities-related issues typical of large-sized congregations.Knowledge of Human Resources.Educational or work experience and a keenly developed aptitude for managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.Measurable and quantifiable experience with supervising a team that has achieved sustained success.Comfort level in high-pressure environments.Ability to collaborate closely with our Clergy and Board.Proven record of successfully building trusted relationships with various constituencies and stakeholders.Basic knowledge of Jewish practices and culture.Proficiency with ShulCloud and Microsoft Office Application Suite.Strategic thinking, leadership, and motivation.An undergraduate degree from an accredited university is required (finance or accounting is preferable); an advanced degree is a plus.MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYThe Executive Director manages, oversees, and is ultimately responsible for the synagogue budget, its physical plant, supervision of synagogue personnel, and overall management and day-to-day operations.The Executive Director, in partnership with the Clergy and lay leadership, is responsible for program management, marketing, public relations, community relations, fund-raising, membership recruitment and retention, resource management (both financial and human), and overseeing capital campaigns and building programs.The Executive Director serves as the central administrator of the Congregation to implement policy decisions of the Board of Trustees.The Executive Director manages the synagogue’s fiscal, physical, security, and administrative affairs, including food service operations.The Executive Director ensures compliance with administrative procedures and maintains the physical environment within which the Congregation’s worship, educational, cultural, and social activities are carried out.The Executive Director is the person through whom all Congregation activities and programs are arranged and coordinated.COMPENSATIONA competitive compensation package, including generous benefits and relocation, is available for the successful candidate.CONTACTPlease send applications to: ExDSearch@bethyeshurun.org.
