Pearson is seeking an innovative Machine Learning and AI Engineer to help leverage the growing field of AI in Higher Education. You'll work on exciting projects that enhance learning experiences for university students and support instructors. Join us in creating solutions that improve educational outcomes through the power of machine learning and large language models (LLMs).Responsibilities:
Develop and implement ML and AI solutions to improve student engagement, comprehension, and personalized learningCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build innovative educational toolsExplore and apply the latest AI technologies to enhance teaching and assessment methodsEvaluate and optimize AI models for performance, cost-effectiveness, and educational impactEnsure responsible and ethical use of AI in educational contextsRequirements
3+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, or AI developmentStrong programming skills in PythonExperience with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and their applicationsKnowledge of data preprocessing and analysis techniquesUnderstanding of ethical AI principles and responsible AI practicesBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Advanced degrees welcome but not required)Preferred Qualifications
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and transformer-based modelsFamiliarity with prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuningBackground in educational technology or e-learning solutionsWe welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, including those with PhDs, quantitative expertise, or equivalent industry experience.
