Job Summary

The UCSF Sports Medicine Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed to care for all athletes: young to old, novice to professional, with non-operative and operative conditions. Our goal is to help everyone achieve their highest level of function in sport and life.

The Physician Assistant will work as part of the UCSF Orthopaedics team supporting Sports Medicine and Trauma. The PA will support these surgical practices by supporting the attendings in clinic as well as having independent clinics (new patients, follow-up and post-op). The PA will perform injections and may assist in surgery on occasion, support the surgeons with procedures such as PRP, and ultrasound guided injections. The PA will work primarily at the UCSF Orthopaedic Institute but may work at satellite locations as well. The PA will be an integral part of the team which consists of other APPs, practice coordinators and certified athletic trainers.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Department Description

Our multi-disciplinary team consists of fellowship-trained sports medicine orthopaedic surgeons that specialize in arthroscopic surgery, as well as primary care sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists. We are fully equipped to care for all athletic injuries with on-site clinics and operating rooms, x-ray and high resolution MRI, physical therapy, and a human performance center.

Required Qualifications

California Physician Assistant License (PA)

Preferred Qualifications

Urgent Care experience

Orthopaedic experience

License/Certification

Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA).

California driver's license (CDL) if required for position.

Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain.

Active and transferable DEA license to California and have evidence of transfer by 90th day of clinical practice.

Complete an AAPA recognized graduate master's degree program as a physician assistant.

Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.

Current AHA BLS.

UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day.
