Full-time, PostdocThe Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF is seeking a highly motivated researcher to join as a Postdoctoral Scholar.Facilities:The UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is a fully equipped teaching, research, and clinical facility, with 150 faculty. The department houses an outstanding facility for collaborative translational clinical research. With over 30 clinical MRI scanners spread over multiple campuses, facilities, and outpatient centers, and 5 dedicated research MRI scanners, as well as a 7T and PET/MRI scanner, the department is well-equipped to perform cutting-edge research. For the current investigations, subjects will be enrolled through all UCSF Hospitals. The principal investigator (Dr. Nael) has access to a large laboratory space in the Mission Hall, which will be the primary location for the Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct neuroimaging research. Workstations with high computing power for image analysis are available. Extensive collaborative research with the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery exists, facilitating subject enrollment for both retrospective and prospective data analysis.Job Description and Responsibilities:The successful candidate will work on multiple neuroimaging research projects under Dr. Nael's direct supervision. Responsibilities include:Database organization and IRB submissionImage processing and analysisExporting data and results into Excel sheetsStatistical analysisProjects include developing methodologies to assess collateral circulation in patients with cerebrovascular disorders, evaluating a variety of CT and MR techniques including perfusion imaging in determining brain tissue fate after stroke. Other quantitative neuroimaging tools such as vessel wall imaging, 4DFlow, permeability, and CEST imaging will also be used in the assessment of patients with cerebrovascular disorders.Job Requirements:Qualifications:Postgraduate students or MD with experience and interest in neuroimaging researchCompetent with image processing software, FSL, database management, Microsoft OfficeStrong track record of research productivity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary teamCandidates should provide the following: Curriculum vitae (CV), Statement of research interests (previous research experience and future research interest), & contact information for 3 references.
