Role Summary
Reliability is at the core of Electric Adventure Vehicles. As a Supplier Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in designing Rivian's products with reliability in mind.
Responsibilities
Set and communicate reliability requirements, targets, and test plans for thermal components, subsystems, and assemblies.Use fleet data, performance characterizations, and industry standards to define lifetime test requirements.Facilitate DFMEA sessions for assigned parts with suppliers and internally.Influence supplier selection for higher reliability and provide clear guidance on reliability requirements and demonstration to suppliers.Lead root cause investigation with physics of failure methodology for reliability test failures.Deploy ongoing reliability testing and burn-in testing strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).3-5 years of industry experience in a reliability engineering role or design engineering role.2+ years of automotive experience.Domain knowledge of methods to design-in and sustain reliability for some of the following:HVAC & thermal components (Heat Pump, Valves, Accumulator, HVAC Module, Hoses, etc).Experience deploying reliability testing guidelines to suppliers and facilitating DFMEAs internally and externally.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range Irvine-Based Applicants:
$171,000 - $213,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).Salary Range Palo Alto-Based Applicants:
$186,000 - $232,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
