We are seeking an Associate to join our Corporate Finance practice in the Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of experience in transactional, real estate, or finance law at a large or mid-size law firm, in-house law department or financing company.Key Responsibilities:Provide advice to clients on secured and unsecured lending transactions, including equipment leasing.Represent insurance companies, banks, finance companies, and financial institutions in private placements, both domestic and cross-border.Draft and negotiate offering and transaction documents, as well as financing statements.Advise clients on the acquisition or sale of portfolios of financial assets.Serve as debt counsel in traditional, leveraged, synthetic, and/or capital lease transactions.Apply a deep understanding of commercial and securities law issues as they relate to finance transactions.Represent parties in financing transactions involving a broad range of asset classes.Qualifications:Impressive academic credentials, JD from an accredited UniversityAbility to manage and prioritize multiple cases and competing work demands.Strong interpersonal, analytical, and oral communication skills.Expertise in research, writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.Superior negotiating skills and a strong understanding of business, industry, and market issues.Proficiency in advocacy and motions practice.Willingness to work during non-standard hours and handle long hours when necessary.Membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar or eligibility to waive in.
