Parker Meggitt San Diego, CA - Sorrento is a leading supplier of small-frame gas turbine actuation systems and fuel metering valves for the oil and gas and power generation sectors.

This location was acquired by Meggitt in 2014 and has established industrial valve engineering capability.

JOB DESIGNATIONFacility Supervisor will be responsible for technical support of facility planning, design, construction, and maintenance to achieve efficiency and cost objectives.

Designs building facilities, equipment, and machinery of basic to moderate scope and complexity.

May have responsibility to develop and monitor environmental and/or energy management programs.

Regular contact with all levels of management and facility service providers.

Works with all departments for solutions to facility issues.

This role will have Direct Reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Oversees moderately complex planning, design, reconfiguration, construction, maintenance, and alteration of facilities.

Responsible for systems such as building security, fire system, and phone system.

Gathers and reviews data concerning facility specifications, restrictions, and requirements.

Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, and materials.

Coordinates with firms in developing design criteria and schedules for new construction and repairs.

Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises work of the maintenance department.

Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

minimum Bachelor's degree required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through three or more years of related experience.

Knowledge of facility, industry practices, regulations, and policies.

Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement methods.

Ability to use standard business software applications and specialized systems.
