POSITION SUMMARY:

The Planned Giving Specialist will manage the day-to-day aspects of the planned giving program, in coordination with the Senior Director. They will be responsible for supporting the engagement, cultivation, and stewardship of prospective and committed planned giving donors. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to gift acceptance, estate administration, liaising with attorneys and executors, and facilitating collaboration across teams and vendors as relates to planned giving strategy and marketing.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the day-to-day operations of Project HOPE's planned giving program, including:

Supporting engagement and cultivation efforts to prospective and existing planned gift prospects and donors.

Assisting with development and implementation of stewardship efforts for Legacy of HOPE Society members.

Managing charitable gift annuity program in coordination with PGCalc.

Processing estate gift paperwork and acknowledgements in coordination with estate representative and internal stakeholders.

Reporting and analytics on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Facilitate the acceptance and administration of planned gifts, including bequests, trusts, and other planned giving vehicles, in collaboration with organizational stakeholders and estate representatives. This includes overseeing the processing of estate gifts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and coordinating with estate attorneys, financial advisors, and other relevant parties to facilitate the timely and accurate transfer of assets to the organization.

Respond to and track Planned Giving and Legacy of Hope inquiries. Negotiate legacy agreements and solicit gifts as directed.

Coordinate with Mass Markets colleagues and vendors to ensure appropriate marketing of planned giving throughout the direct marketing program.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal estate records, including donor profiles, gift documentation, and relevant correspondence.

Supports research and data segmentation as requested.

Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years' experience in non-profit and/or development field

Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field

Poised and professional communication style-in person, over the phone, and in writing

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop positive relationships quickly and work in a team atmosphere

Strong project management skills

Ability to respond flexibly and resourcefully to workload fluctuations, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Detail-oriented, organized and can handle multiple projects at one time

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate motivational skills, professional maturity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with online prospect research tools and a CRM such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or NetForum highly preferred

Experience in development and donor-facing roles preferred

Experience with international relief or global health sectors preferred

Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.

Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions.

Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.

While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.

Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as "hardship."

Salary range starting at $62,000 USD per year based on candidates residing in the US. Compensation for the role is dependent on several factors including a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
