Endoscopy TechnicianLocation:

Washington DC NWMUST:Experienced Endoscopy TechnicianHigh School Diploma or GED RequiredAssociate's degree in surgical technology Preferred1-2 years experience in an endoscopy environment with technical skills and knowledge necessary to function in the Operating Room environment with endoscopy equipment.CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross RequiredDUTIES:Supports and assists the Gastroenterology Specialist with the performance of diagnostic and or therapeutic endoscopy procedures.Anticipates the needs of the Gastroenterology Specialist during procedure by having all instrumentation and supplies ready prior to use.Inspects and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies prior to scheduled case ensuring no delay in procedure.Assists in patient monitoring for tolerance of procedure and alerts physician and Registered Nurse of any change in status.Assists with specimen retrieval and preparation in accordance with established protocols.Labels all medications on the field in accordance with established protocols.Participates in the process of universal time out during procedure.Assists team members promptly with room turn-over and clean up with minimal supervision.Assists with environmental services support such as linen management, trash removal and cleaning of equipment.Assists with transport of equipment and supplies, as appropriate.Assists with the transfer and positioning of patients as directed by GI Specialist, Licensed Anesthesia Care Provider and or Registered Nurse, on and off the OR table, stretcher, bed, etc.Used endoscopes are properly logged and labeled and returned to decontamination area as soon as procedure ends.Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
