seek a Surgical Oncologist to join an academic practice in Morgantown, WV (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The candidate will join a diverse group which currently includes six surgeons.Duties:

Responsibilities for the position include establishing a clinical practice in surgical oncology, education of students and residents, and scholarly activity.Qualifications:

Prospective candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for a state medical license. Required experience includes completion of a residency in General Surgery including board certification or eligibility. Completion of a residency (fellowship) in Complex General Surgical Oncology is highly preferred, or similar advanced surgical training relevant to the practice of surgical oncology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.The Division of Surgical Oncology at West Virginia University has extensive experience treating breast, colorectal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal cancers as well as endocrine disease, melanoma, and sarcoma. We have implemented several innovative programs including advanced robotic surgery, IORT for breast cancer, and regional therapies such as HIPEC and hepatic artery infusion. You will join a highly skilled surgical team making an extraordinary difference in the lives of patients across our entire state. Successful candidates will embody the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department of Surgery.Surgical oncologists at WVU work closely with many other disciplines including medical oncology, radiation oncology, hospital medicine, plastic and orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology, gastroenterology, and pathology. Our highly functioning teams include physician assistants, specialized oncology nurses, and dedicated administrative staff. Patients are seen in multidisciplinary clinics at the newly expanded Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center (MBRCC). The MBRCC, in combination with the WVU Cancer Institute, has formed strong partnerships with many regional cancer hospitals improving the coordination of innovative care for cancer patients in West Virginia and surrounding states. Growth within the Division of Surgical Oncology is a cornerstone of this effort.The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
