As we continue to grow quickly, we’re looking to add a talented and experienced software engineering manager to run one of our existing product development teams. Our teams are staffed with five to eight front-end and back-end engineers, with support from a product manager and a product designer. Engineering managers serve as key leaders of our teams, helping define how to reach our end goals, breaking down strategic objectives into work for the team, and assisting the team in architecting high-quality software to delight our customers; ultimately, inspiring our engineers to do their best work.You will be working on one of our strategic initiatives, such as ingestion of a variety of cost and container metric data into the CloudZero platform, building actionable insights to drive customer cost savings, or enabling cloud unit economics to support customer profitability. These are all critically important to CloudZero’s success, and you will be instrumental in driving results for these features.Responsibilities
Directly coach, motivate, develop, and support 5-8 engineersHelp recruit new engineers to your teamFacilitate the continuous improvement of your team regarding delighting our customers, improving quality, and innovating in our spaceHelp advocate for quality and technical debt improvementsPartner with Product Management and Product DesignPlay a key role in driving product decisions to ensure the platform evolves in ways that are sustainable and delightful to our customersDrive improvements to our engineering processes, ensuring that we continue to move fast and iterate quickly, giving everyone agency, ownership, and the ability to impact the broader success of the companyQualifications
You have 6+ years of experience building software systemsYou pride yourself on your ability to collaborate with others, and are often cited as being personable, approachable, professional, and inclusiveYou are exceptional at outbound communication, both synchronous and asynchronousYou have at least 1 year of experience managing a team of engineersYou have a passion for coaching and mentoring engineers and teams in a highly collaborative environmentYou believe in giving teams high levels of agencyYou are experienced in building SaaS applicationsYou have experience in B2B companies, especially around infrastructure products, is a plusCloud cost management is one of the biggest challenges organizations face today.
