How will your role impact First Command?This individual will lead our enterprise architecture practice. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Architecture, this role will develop and implement the enterprise architecture strategy in alignment with the organization's business goals. Collaborate with senior leadership across the entire organization to ensure IT investments and initiatives support strategic objectives. The applicant that will thrive in this role will bring an understanding of frameworks and governance and apply them in a fashion that enables technology teams to “say yes” to the business. You will lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.What will you be doing?Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy in alignment with First Command's business goals.Lead and mentor a team of enterprise architects, providing guidance and fostering a culture of excellence.Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate enterprise architecture into strategic planning processes.Serve as a key strategic advisor on technology trends and their impact on current and future business operations.Oversight and accountability to the current, interim and potential future state of key architecture domains.Ensure the integration of business processes, information systems, and technological infrastructure.Develop technical runway and architecture roadmaps that ensure alignment with business priorities.Oversee the creation and maintenance of architectural blueprints and documentation.Lead initiatives to modernize legacy systems and integrate new technologies seamlessly.Present architectural insights and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.Promote awareness and understanding of enterprise architecture principles across the organization.Who will you lead?Lead team of enterprise architects.What skills/qualifications do you need?EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Work ExperienceMinimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks and strategies.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Academic understanding of EA frameworks such as TOGAF/Zachman, and the ability to leave the classroom and apply it to the complexity of portfolio prioritization.Proficient in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data management, and emerging technologies.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Proven ability to drive change and implement continuous improvement initiatives.High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.Excellent analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.Understand the industry, market, and product/service trends affecting the organization’s competitiveness.Keeps abreast of business, industry, and market information that may reveal business opportunities.Works cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions, communicating effectively across different organizational levels.
