Market Development ManagerYour role and responsibilities

As the Business Development Manager - Building Automation, you will accelerate the growth of our HVAC Building Automation business. The focus of this position will be to develop new business in the Northeast and Southeast Regions. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for defining and executing sales strategies aimed at System Integrators, Consulting Engineers, OEMs and End Users in the U.S. Market. This approach will yield growth in ABB HVAC Building Automation control products in the assigned Regions. The successful candidate will ensure the definition of the business plan, annual sales plans, and marketing strategies according to budget. Indirect leadership and collaboration amongst the Business Line, Area Sales, Customer Service and Technical Support will be critical to success for the Business Development Manager.While this is a remote position, preferred candidates will currently be sitting in the mid-Atlantic US area. Relocation assistance will not be provided.This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States.You will be mainly accountable for:*Business Development: Work with the business to identify, prioritize, develop, and implement go to market strategy for Building Automation products and target segments. Work will include, analyzing opportunities to improve market coverage by adding high quality System Integrators in markets that currently underpenetrated. Provide market intelligence analyses in support of identification and development of new segments or solutions. Participates in internal work groups to share know-how, processes and market information.*Sales - Identification and acquisition of new System Integrators, Distributors, OEMs, and National Account partners to expand ABB's HVAC Building Automation business. Collaborates with all related internal contacts to ensure alignment, efficiency, and effectiveness in the implementation of the commercial strategy.*Targets: Ensures achievement of share growth targets and sales budgets through definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.*Customer Engagement / Segmentation / Targeting / Positioning: Defines prioritized custom-er conversion targets and owns follow-up to ensure goals are met. Provides input to segment marketing on go-to-market strategies, content, sales enablement, and digital tools. Researches and analyzes market and customer data to identify trends, issues, and other relevant information to determine specific requirements, attitudes, effects of current and potential market conditions and regulations that may affect product marketing strategies. Provides support and recommendations for campaign strategies and related communications.Qualifications for the role

Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering.Minimum of 5 years of sales management, business development or product management experience in the building technology, building automation or IoT industries.Experience in the Internet of Things (IoT) and HVACR Markets.Experience with national account and enterprise customers.Advanced skills with MS Office and CRM software, preferably Salesforce.Ability to Travel up to 50% each monthCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about us
