About the Team:
The Factory Test team is responsible for all hazardous testing in our Long Beach facilities. We use our breadth of experience and collaborative engineering approach to support everything from very large structural tests to precise valve actuation. To that end, we design, build, and operate all test assets from initial concept to test execution. If you enjoy working on a multi-disciplinary team with a broad mandate and want to put hands-on hardware, then this is the team for you.
Your application will be reviewed, and if you are chosen to move forward, you will interview with Engineers at Relativity Space. If you are selected for the internship program, you will be placed in one of the below specialized teams:Test Structures EngineeringTest Fluids EngineeringTest Systems EngineeringPast intern projects (just a few examples!)
Tested flight quick disconnectsDesigned and built a Thrust Vector Controller test standDesigned, built, and operated the Ox bleed disconnect test standDesigned and built a hydrostatic pressurization system for rocket tank testingDesigned, integrated, and fabricated infrastructure to help run tests more often and more efficientlySkills/Competencies we're looking for:
Current undergraduate or graduate student earning degree in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical engineering, or other related fieldBasic knowledge of one or more of the following areas: fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, structural design, common instrumentationHands-on project experience strongly desired, but not required.
