Job Summary
The Sr Engineer Business Intelligence is the most senior technical member of a BI team and reports to the Manager of Business Intelligence. In this role, the Sr. Engineer Business Intelligence actively collaborates with business stakeholders, BI analysts & developers, and other teammates in IT to design, implement, & maintain BI systems and solutions.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with fostering a strong data culture in the companyAssist with improving the capabilities and value of BI at the organizationProvide QC of solutions within the QC frameworkFollow change management and integration management best practicesAddress IT tickets & troubleshoot performance, operability, & accuracy of reportsPerform administrative duties to maintain the current BI environmentManage access to the current BI environmentSupport business users to publish, refresh, change, and remove reportsLead development on solutions with complex requirementsAssist analysts outside IT to use the enterprise data model and deliver their own solutionsDeliver more basic reporting solutions at the direction of the BI ManagerWork with business to gather detailed requirements & design solutionsCompare data needs against data available in enterprise assetsMaintain an enterprise data architectureQualifications / Education
2+ years sustaining an enterprise data architecture, such as a common data model or data warehouse2+ years working with internal stakeholders2+ years of owning full lifecycle of BI projects/solutions5+ years of hands-on enterprise data engineering/ETL experience and data modeling experience5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence stackBachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a suitable fieldSkills & Experience
Excellent leadership & interpersonal skillsComfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer-facing roleComfortable prioritizing & ability to manage work & stakeholders across multiple projectsCapable of working within an enterprise data environment- change & integration managementStrong skills in data wrangling- Power Query & M and data modelling & DAXStrong skills in data visualization and troubleshooting conceptsExperience with SQL Server Management Studio, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, & ALM ToolkitComfortable working with row level & object level security
