Job Description Summary

The role of Senior Counsel, Ultrasound, is responsible for providing advice to GE Healthcare’s global Ultrasound business unit on a variety of legal issues and transactions, including but not limited to structuring, drafting and negotiating product development and evaluation agreements; sourcing and licensing arrangements and related transactions; and compliance with healthcare fraud & abuse, medical device research and promotion / advertising, privacy, and other applicable regulations.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Act as a business partner by applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, partnerships, and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.

Draft, review, and negotiate strategic business agreements and transactions including but not limited to commercial, sourcing, development, and licensing agreements.

Advise the business on medical device research and advertising / promotion, privacy, antitrust, and other regulatory matters in conjunction with the Regulatory Affairs and Compliance specialist areas in GE Healthcare.

Supporting M&A, dispute resolution, and litigation matters where appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications:

JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership

5+ years of business law experience (or equivalent outside the U.S.) at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex business transactions (i.e., purchase, sales, distribution, and licensing agreements)

Experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment

Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and simply in English

Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare industry experience, particularly with medical device regulations (e.g., U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, U.S. Anti-kickback Statute)

Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment
