: Full TimeAbout BerkeleyAt the University of California, Berkeley, we are committed to creating a community that fosters equity of experience and opportunity, and ensures that students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds feel safe, welcome and included.We are looking for equity-minded applicants who represent the full diversity of California and who demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds present in our community.Departmental OverviewBerkeley Public Health (BPH) aims to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research.The UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC) was established in 2000 to inform decision-making and empower communities to improve roadway safety for all.Application Review DateThe First Review Date for this job is: September 2, 2024ResponsibilitiesConducts transportation safety related data analysisUtilize general statistical knowledge in support of research grants.Analyze data using R, Python, STATA or other statistical software, as needed.Document analyses performed and share the outcome with other staff.Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and publicationsDevelop data summary and visualization using tables and charts.Draft a part of manuscripts with directions from the Principal Investigators.Conduct literature searches and reviews.Assist in preparing data and writing a draft for the grant proposals.Draft monthly, quarterly, or yearly progress reports if appropriate.Research, collect and maintain transportation safety related dataCollect relevant transportation safety data.Assist in developing systems for organizing data to analyze, identify and report trends.Review available data and update periodically if needed to make the data up-to-date.Share the summary of the available dataset and recent changes with internal constituents.Participates in workshops, training, and other professional development opportunities.Other duties, as assignedRequired QualificationsWorking knowledge in various statistical analysis methods in order to perform data analysesProficiency with statistical software such as STATA, R, or related data analysis softwareDemonstrated strong data analytical skillsAbility to communicate complex information in a clear and concise mannerSelf-motivated and works independentlyDemonstrated broad problem-solving skillsWrites clearly and in the appropriate styleInteracts with co-workers appropriately and efficientlyEducation/TrainingBachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/trainingPreferred QualificationsExperience utilizing online charting libraries such as HighCharts, D3, or Google ChartsExperience analyzing geospatial datasetKnowledge of relational database structures and database querying toolsAbility to understand SQL and write SQL queries for data processingSalary & BenefitsThe budgeted salary range for this position is $35.00/hr - $42.00/hr ($73,080.00 - $87,696.00 annual).
