Job Description - Director II (226 Days) (RTP20240718-032)DescriptionDirect and manage the district's assigned instructional subject program, including all curriculum and professional development, supervise personnel charged with planning and implementing the program, and coordinate the assigned instructional subject program with all other departments in interdisciplinary interactions.Develop, implement, monitor, review, and coordinate the assigned content subject TEKS-based curricula for grades PreK-12, including textbook adoptions, in alignment with resources and assessments.Ensure all PreK-12 grade teachers and students have access to and use a high quality Tier 1 curricular resource in content subject instruction.Provide PreK-12 professional development for teachers and instructional leaders, ensuring incorporation of best practices and technology integration.Assist the Deputy Chief and Executive Director in all community related events.Collaborate with educational institutions, businesses, and organizations to provide quality content-based experiences for teachers and students.Provide leadership to campuses through instructional observations and curriculum implementation walks to promote continued improvement in content-based educational programs.Ensure all curriculum embedded assessments, including the relative Assessment of Course Progress (ACP) exams and Common Assessments (for select courses), are aligned to the district curriculum and state standards.Keep abreast of developing information regarding STAAR assessments and disseminate information to the appropriate personnel.Monitor budget expenditures of General Operating funds and Title budgets.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.Perform all other tasks and duties assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required in a related content area; Master’s Degree from an accredited university preferred.Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned preferred; Texas standard Principal Certificate or Mid-Management Certificate preferred.5+ years of direct experience as a related content teacher required; 10+ years of indirect experience in an educational leadership role preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of PreK-12 content education curriculum and professional development related programs.Demonstrated ability to create high-level presentations, as well as supervise professional learning for multiple stakeholders.Demonstrated organizational, communication, leadership, budgeting, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.Ability to integrate technology into a learning environment.
