Senior Protection EngineerPOWER Engineers is currently seeking a Protection Engineer to work in the Power Delivery SCADA & Analytical Services (SAS) Department in our Syracuse, NY office. Flexibility is available for a remote work schedule. Candidates will be expected to travel on occasion and work successfully in a customer-focused, project-oriented environment.Roles and ResponsibilitiesConduct all work associated with protective relaying, including short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis.Perform projects for utility, industrial, and commercial clients.Analyze a variety of systems, including conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission & distribution systems.Provide technical and budgeting support for proposal development.Staff assigned projects with appropriate engineers while providing oversight to meet agreed-upon schedule and budget.Ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.Maintain and improve existing client relationships.Grow and develop new technical service areas.Lead and mentor team members assigned to projects.Required QualificationsBachelor of Science and/or Engineering.Ten (10) + years of industry experience.Must have a PE or equivalent.Technical experience in Protective Relaying (i.e., short circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, protection scheme and criteria development, relay settings, integration with SCADA systems, NERC compliance, arc flash analysis).Experience utilizing AcSELerator Quickset (SEL-5030), GE Enervista, ASPEN Oneliner, SKM-PTW, ETAP, CAPE, and/or RSCAD/RTDS.Desired QualificationsPower Systems focused Masters.A proven history of completing similar projects in a consulting environment.Experience in mentoring others and providing technical and commercial leadership in customer-focused engineering projects.At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations.
