Location: Williston, North DakotaThe Senior Civil Engineer is a role that manages complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines. This team member works closely with municipal leaders to provide engineering solutions in all municipal aspects involving Municipal Infrastructure, Land and Site Development Projects, Grading Projects, Water Distribution Systems, Sanitary Sewer Systems, Storm Sewer Systems, Roadway Improvements, Sidewalks and Shared-Use Paths, Small Pumping Facilities, and Small Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESManage small to mid-size projects, client and contractor agreements, and budgets.Develop client relationships in support of business development to secure new project opportunities.Write and prepare technical engineering reports, plans, and specifications for projects.Consult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their civil engineering design and support needs.Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects.Evaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities, and cost of materials, equipment, and labor requirements.Assist with construction inspection of project sites to monitor progress and ensure design specifications are met.Mentor less experienced engineers as needed.Engage with public agencies to provide support, permitting, and approval of project needs.Read and interpret construction plans to assist with client management and effectively communicate to answer inquiries from colleagues, clients, contractors, or the public.Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to:Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, and crawl.Use hands to handle tools and/or controls; reach with hands and arms.Talk or hear and communicate clearly.The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.WHY YOU'D LOVE THIS JOBYou enjoy a position that allows you flexibility to design and build solutions for clients that impact communities.You can engage with team members on challenging projects and mentor them in their development.You like the responsibility that comes from working with a team of business professionals in a fast-paced environment.You are driven by integrity, quality, and industry-leading strategies.You value a fun working environment that provides the support needed to succeed.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLEA bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar field.Professional Engineering Registration (PE) for the state of ND (or ability to obtain registration for ND).8+ years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering.Strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and other related programs.Experience working in teams and outstanding listening and communication skills.Ability to advocate for the Civil Engineering field and enjoy sharing knowledge, giving presentations, and encouraging students to explore it as a career.A BIT MORE INFORMATIONThis position is based in our Williston, ND office; however, occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required.Salary and Benefit InformationThis is a full-time, exempt position with competitive pay depending on experience, plus a robust benefits package.Benefits Provided by Ackerman-Estvold Include:100% Paid Health Insurance for employees and child dependents.
