Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an experienced data scientist that can drive the development and implementation of data science solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, underwriters, actuaries, and IT to tackle initiatives that enhance pricing sophistication and drive profitable growth in residential property.
What you’d be doing:
Build GLM Loss cost models using RBuild complex non-pricing modelsExplore and utilize advanced modeling techniques (e.g., machine learning techniques and Elastic Nets) to build sophisticated modelsCollaborate with Actuarial, Product Development, and UnderwritingAct as a mentor and help develop junior team membersDevelop model-driven solutions to complex business problems
We’re looking for someone who has:
Minimum of 5 years industry experience, or a PhD in a quantitative studies discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.Experience with predictive modeling and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem, Python/R)Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, and the business (lines, systems, pricing plans)Strong Excel, Microsoft Office, SAS, and database skills. Ability to build complex modelsEffective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; strong team player and ability to work across organizational boundariesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments
