Position Summary

This position leads recruitment efforts for the Office of Strategic Recruitment and Outreach to ensure a qualified and diverse student population. Responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to meet the enrollment goals of University of Illinois Chicago and its various college units. Additionally, the employee will participate in the strategic planning process; providing direct supervision and training to recruitment staff.Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with Executive Director and Directors within the unit to develop and execute multi-channel recruitment programming, outreach and communication plans.Utilize enrollment management principles to meet the undergraduate enrollment goals of the University by working collaboratively with Executive and Unit Directors on strategic plans.Analyze and measure effectiveness of recruitment activities including travel, applicant support, and campus visits. Develop guidelines and train staff on counseling prospective students and families in the inquiry, applicant, or admitted stage.Conduct enrollment research, analyze historical enrollment data and develop reports to monitor trends and progress towards campus goals. Build, review and analyze application summary reports to track recruitment efforts. Utilize Slate customer relationship management (CRM) tool reporting and event management interfaces to oversee logistics for activities.Advise, assist and collaborate with academic colleges, academic support programs and other campus units on projects and initiatives supporting issues of diversity and college access.Assist the Strategic Recruitment and Outreach management team with the coordination of local, state, national and international recruitment plans and initiatives including impact on the budget planning process.Manage direction and maintain oversight of on-campus visit programs to recruit prospective students in the unit's Visitors Center.Review admissions decisions for consistency to ensure appropriate use of policies.Serve as a speaker during high profile recruitment and public relations events. Represent the University of Illinois Chicago at conferences and meetings that address and inform state and local counselors on admissions and recruitment policy issues.Manage and supervise recruitment staff on functions related to recruitment, admissions counseling, communication plans and University policies and procedures.Staff Management Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required.A minimum of five years experience in enrollment management with supervisory experience.Ability to travel overnight locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred.Knowledge of university policies and procedures, FERPA regulations, principles of recruitment and admissions. Knowledge of student data systems including Technolutions Slate CRM.Demonstrated knowledge of university recruitment strategies. Experience addressing issues, demographic shifts, and trends affecting secondary and higher education. Membership in professional organizations such as Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling or other professional organizations.Ability to analyze, interpret and report research data. Strong leadership, written communication and public speaking skills required. Excellent management and supervisory skills with a strong record of accomplishments. Experience working with diverse student populations.
