Job DescriptionLexitas Legal is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for their client, a prestigious boutique law firm in their Washington, D.C. Office.

Prior trial experience is a must.

Must be available to travel/assist with future trials that require onsite presence for a couple weeks depending on the case.

Required firm experience:

AmLaw 100 or litigation boutique Top 10 Vault ranking, strong tenure, and substantive litigation/appellate trial experience with at least 1-2 high profile cases.

Overall, the paralegal will be responsible for providing organizational and project-based support from case inception through case closure and will be responsible for the coordination of all details before, during and after trial.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Creates and implements all elements of litigation case management systems, including file management (electronic and hard copy), case calendaring, discovery-related tasks and trial activities.

Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.

Assist attorneys with document reviews (setup, coordination of hot doc binders, preparation of privilege logs, conduct searches as needed, etc.).

Assist with preparation of state and federal court filings, including coordination of service copies, delivery of documents to Court, preparation of litigation backs and other specific document preparation as required by the specific Court or Judge.

Draft and review routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.

Conduct precedent and legal research under attorney supervision.

Comfortable interacting with outside entities (e.g. courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors and other law firms) to gather information or coordinate activities as needed in support of upcoming depositions, trials, arbitrations.

Create and maintain effective working relationships with others to facilitate a positive work environment.

Impeccable writing and communication skills, excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Experience and Required Qualifications:

BA or BS degree required; Paralegal Certification is a plus.

Previous trial experience (at least two high profile trials)

Strong attention to detail and accountability

Ability to communicate with individuals of all levels within the firm in a courteous and professional manner.

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work concurrently on a variety of matters and manage time and expectations.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Excellent judgment

Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro

Must be available for overtime and travel (for trials) as needed.

Salary target is 80-100k, however, may be higher for ideal, highly experienced candidate.

The firm operates in a hybrid environment with 2 core days in the office (Tuesdays/Wednesdays). This role requires an additional scheduled day onsite (all paralegals/legal assistants are onsite 3 days a week) and flexibility regarding onsite presence based on business needs and deadlines.

This role is eligible for OT and a discretionary bonus based on individual and firm performance.

New hires are auto enrolled at 3% pre-tax employee contribution and are eligible for a 3% Safe Harbor firm contribution towards their 401(k) based on total comp (base salary and bonus) in March of the following year even if they decide not to contribute to the plan.

The firm observes 10 holidays and grants employees 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and up to 3 weeks of paid vacation (prorated during the first year).
