PIMCO Product Strategists are investment professionals that specialize in a market sector or investment style. They are recognized internally and externally as experts in their area. Strategists use their highly specialized knowledge of financial markets and client demand across institutional and retail channels to lead business opportunities within their sector or investment style. This includes helping raise capital for new and existing investment solutions and ensuring that PIMCO has the appropriate suite of products to meet client demand and market opportunities going forward.

PIMCO is seeking a Fixed Income Strategist to join its Fixed Income Product Strategist team in New York or Newport Beach.

Fixed Income Strategist Responsibilities:

Identify demand for new products; develop, position and support those products

Develop international investment solutions and structures, while taking into account local regulatory rules and constraints

Work with investors and their advisors to identify and assess investment needs and recommend suitable investment strategies and solutions

Develop a strong partnership with the portfolio management teams to maintain in-depth knowledge of fixed income markets and PIMCO multi-sector bond portfolios, serving as an expert to relationship managers and marketers

Represent PIMCO's multi-sector products externally at client meetings, industry conferences and meetings with other market participants globally

Develop marketing, servicing and educational materials, including client presentations, white papers, and other thought leadership materials for publication

Help oversee and lead a team of 2-3 Product Associates and Analysts

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

7+ years of relevant work experience in asset management or sell-side industry

An MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or an equivalent advanced degree

Robust understanding of macroeconomics and fixed income markets

Aptitude in analyzing and communicating portfolio strategy and risk factors

Enthusiasm for the financial markets and investment management

Understanding of the various channels of demand and distribution for fixed income products

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Aptitude for public speaking in both formal and informal settings, in front of different types of small or large audiences

Entrepreneurial drive to build a business coupled with the ability to be a cooperative teammate

High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work according to business needs

Clear commitment to PIMCO's culture, values and investment approach

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Salary Range: $175,000.00 - $240,000.00
