The members of our team have an opportunity to help customers meet their goals, differentiate Ecolab from competition and impact achievement of growth targets.Position Purpose:The Business Development Manager, Life Sciences role is designed to establish and grow new partnerships with Pharmaceutical and adjacent Life Science customers by working alongside them at their facilities and identify potential improvements to ensure regulatory compliance, improve product quality and identify safety and operational efficiency opportunities. This service is a key differentiator for Ecolab's existing and potential customers.This position will be focused on developing and managing new customers in a select geography. Our industry has a long sales cycle, and a successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing long term opportunities alongside short term wins. The ability to maintain visibility to sales activities by leveraging a customer relationship management (CRM) system is critical to success.The candidate will be expected to provide support and input to customer technical inquiries, liaising with the Global Technical Consultant (GTC) team and coordinating and managing responses where required. They will advise customers on Contamination Control programs and services Ecolab can provide and facilitate discussions with GTC who will advise on appropriate methodology, set up cleaning validation concepts and implement studies together with our customers. They will also facilitate project management (i.e., initiating, and steering projects where there are gaps identified in our available data).The role will provide guidance to customers on the processes and products which can support these activities. The role is responsible for technically supporting the implementation of improvements (i.e overseeing/managing optimization of cleaning, disinfection, and bio-decontamination processes) and providing a link between customers and Ecolab Life Science functional teams.What You Will Do:Build and maintain a robust pipeline of growth opportunities for chemistry and capital equipment.Provide technical expertise across a broad base of applications to resolve complex customer problems in cleanroom related applications as well as manufacturing suites.Support customer technical visits and site surveys, reviewing customer processes and the cleaning and disinfection products in place to ensure they are both compliant and as efficient. Partnering with GTC to provide recommendations and support any change.Assist the customer in their change control process in partnership with GTC including training; support a cleaning validation program and provide direct support to customer teams that implement site validations.Conduct and/or support customer-facing seminars and internal training on cleaning principles/best practice and support seminars/training for optimization/compliance and validation for Pharma manufacturing.Interface directly with Corporate Account Managers to present Ecolab program and ensure deliverables meet the customer needs.Assist in communicating best practices and key learnings to the greater field organization.Responsible for ensuring brand standards and awareness, accuracy, and compliance of reports in a timely manner.Partner with Marketing and other Sales teams to optimize value capture and reporting processes.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree3 years of practical experience in Pharma or adjacent Life Science production (e.g., GMP Cleaning Disinfection)1 year of experience in Cell and Gene TherapyDemonstrated success in growing a book of businessExperience in understanding/troubleshooting of Contamination Control Strategies for cleanroomsAbility to travel 50%+ within North America based on customer needsExcellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record 2 yearsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Life Sciences industry (Pharmaceutical)Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize multiple projects with strong follow-throughMaster's degree in Pharmaceutical Technology/ Microbiology (or comparable)Demonstrated familiarity with/experience of with internal or external auditingExperience in change control processesGood knowledge of existing guidelines dealing with cleaning and disinfection, including (but not limited to): EMA, FDA, MHRAUnderstanding regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., ISPE; ASTM; EudraLex GMP Annexes; PIC/S; USP)Previous experience in GMP production sitesAbout Life SciencesOur Life Sciences team partners with global pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturers to enhance safety, compliance and operational efficiency through a comprehensive, programmatic approach to contamination control, cleaning and disinfection.
