Bilingual (Spanish) Retail Sales & Service Consultant

Serve as an advocate for current and prospective members at retail locations. Clarify and resolve account related questions for all lines of business. Provide an excellent customer experience by ensuring that all transactions and inquiries are addressed accurately and in a timely fashion.
Sell various types of health insurance products on behalf of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
Adhere to all Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines and company driven compliance programs.
What you’ll do:
Address and resolve member questions pertaining to all plan aspects such as claims, benefits, and eligibility.
Consult, interpret, and explain plan benefits and policies to members and providers.
Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market appropriate products and services.
Close sales, build customer relationships, and showcase plan specific benefits.
Apply customer engagement philosophies and personality-based resolution techniques to all sales and service interactions to adhere to established goals for assigned product lines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
A combination of education and related experience
Two to four years of experience in a customer-facing environment within the health insurance industry, medical billing office, retail, or sales role.
Ability to proficiently speak Spanish.
Complete an 8-week training program specific to retail operations
Ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships
Ability to transition between sales and service functions efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Basic knowledge of retail, marketing, customer service or sales operations
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to think critically, make decisions and solve problems
Natural inclination to own the outcome and maintain the highest quality standards
Intermediate command of Microsoft Suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) with capacity to quickly learn new skills and programs
Must be available to work from any Blue Cross Blue Shield store or office
Skilled at researching data, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate actions
The extras:
Experience working in a sales environment
Active RI Producers License for Health (must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
Location:
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
In-office: onsite 5 days per week
Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department:
