The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial and accounting activities are properly managed and in compliance with government contracting procedures. These activities include, but are not limited to: processing semi-monthly payroll, reviewing payroll for accuracy and payroll entries, contract administration, and preparing month-end journal entries. The Senior Accountant will maintain account reconciliations and conduct financial analysis activities as needed. Senior Accountant's tasks are time-sensitive and deadlines must be met.Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for semi-monthly payroll, including importing timesheets from Time & Expense (T&E) to CostPoint, payroll reconciliation, posting labor distribution journal, and uploading payroll onto the payroll vendor serverMaintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accountsPrepare recurring, adjusting, and semi-monthly payroll entriesWire and ACH transactions (both initiating the transaction and recording it in Deltek)Set up new contracts and add modifications in CostPoint as neededSet up new hires labor categories in CostPoint and workforce and import the information to T&EAssist with expense reports as neededManage and process monthly billing ensuring accuracy and timeliness of assigned billsWork with contracts team and Delivery Program VPs to review accounting-related issues with new and existing clients and subcontractor agreementsServe as a backup for standard AP entries, cash receipts, check-printing, and postingsAssist with annual auditProvide financial analysis as requestedAny other accounting and financial duties as requiredRequired Skills and Experience:

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institutionA minimum of 3 years recent experience working with Deltek CostPoint 7.0A minimum of 3 years of experience in the government contracting fieldHands-on payroll processing is helpfulExcellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulnessAdvanced Excel skillsStrong quantitative and analytical skillsThe ability to learn and interact with other professionalsAbility to perform and work as part of a teamHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailSolid understanding of accounting processes and procedures and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Must be a US citizenActive clearance or eligibility for security clearanceAdditional Information
