DescriptionThe Sr. Safety Manager provides management and training of new Safety Engineers and Managers and takes reasonable actions necessary to carry out the responsibilities and duties of the position, which is within sound management practices and good business judgment.Responsibilities and DutiesManage the Operational Functions to meet the goals of SMART Safety Group as assigned by the Director of Operations:Monitoring and controlling productivity and safety audit accuracy:

Monitoring document control to ensure information is accurate and timely for maintaining customer safety program requirements.Monitoring the coordination of the scheduling of material and personnel to perform all structured meetings with customer personnel.Monitoring the controls and reporting of time spent on activities for each Safety Engineer assigned to audits and for each Safety Manager assigned to customers and to assure attainment of budget goals.Assisting Human Resources in hiring and maintaining talent.Ensuring that all the direct reporting employees are properly directed, trained, motivated and aware of the company's mission.Conducting formal 90 days and annual performance reviews of staff.Responsible for reaching out to existing and potential clients and identifying new business opportunities that would generate more revenue resources for the company and increase profitability.Establishing and implementing safety services with new clients.

Ensure that personnel scheduling is performed in an accurate and timely manner:

Monitoring the coordination of personnel for efficient safety program management and good customer service.Maintaining record keeping to adequately report safety program results and incident follow-up.Monitoring audits to assure they are conducted, collated and reported properly to each customer.

Maintain SMART Safety Group as a safe and secure workplace:

Survey every job site for proper safety product, supplies and procedures prior to entering job site.Attending Safety Program meetings when necessary.Ensuring that safety programs are followed and that all employees operate within sound safety standards.Conducting audits and attending any accident investigations in person when necessary.

Provide information, communication and leadership:

Provide the Management Team and Operations Director with customer information on a regular basis using the information documents required by SMART Safety Group.Back up essential functions:

Train (or arrange for) back up personnel to perform the necessary tasks.Ensure compliance:

Ensure staff compliance with applicable Federal, State, City and municipality laws and regulations.Perform other tasks:

Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the CEO or Director of Operations and keep them informed on significant financial and employment issues.RequirementsBachelor's degreeMinimum 5 years of Safety Management in Construction experience.Certifications; OSHA, CHST/STS, OHST, ASP, CSP highly preferred.
