We are currently looking for a Director of Finance, Functional Marketing to lead the Functional Marketing Finance team. As the leader of the Functional Marketing Finance team, you will be at the center of the transformation for our customer acquisition through focused and effective digital media strategies through deep partnership with our Functional marketing teams including the Global Demand Center (GDC), Events, Digital Media, and Communications. You will be responsible for setting vision and execution across planning, analytics, insight & Return on Investment (ROI), prioritization, optimization, and enabling deep collaboration across cross functional teams including marketing, sales, product, and functional support teams. The Functional Marketing Finance team is part of the Marketing & Consumer Sales Finance team and the Experiences + Devices, and Marketing (EDM) Finance organization. This team provides finance support & analysis and partners closely with stakeholders to drive strategic prioritization, thought leadership, and resource trade-off decisions with the goal of increasing marketing investment ROI. This leadership will also be responsible for leading by example and creating best in class culture that enables team members to accelerate their career growth and drive impactful outcomes aligned to Microsoft's strategy. Responsibilities:

Lead individual team members, providing coaching, priority setting, support, and leadership to team members to drive business growth, impact, and career growth.Set the vision and execution for Functional Marketing finance team including business partnership/collaboration, investment frameworks/prioritization, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analytics, and recommendations to increase ROI and re-investment opportunities.Drive data informed decision making and systematic solutions, communicate effectively with executives, and collaborate well across all levels of the commercial and marketing organization across forums.Direct and coach teams as they leverage relationships with customers and partners, ensuring organization and teams remain customer centric.Direct, perform, and review analysis and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans, and prepare, summarize, and drive recommendations.Guide others to contribute to budget, forecast, reporting, closing, and recurring business review processes.Manage the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting.Ensure team is generating relevant and actionable insights to move business forward.Collaborate and empower others to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.Share business insights and advance solutions and action plans to drive business and leader goals and short-term accountabilities.Provide credible insights into industry benchmarks and customer trends, performance improvements, and growth.Facilitate to resolve complex issues.Guide team to focus on driving profitable growth and shareholder return by being an integral part of the business decision making process.Conceptualize and design innovative approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions.Apply understanding of the broader internal Microsoft context, as well as external factors, to offer solutions to ensure organizational objectives are met.Consider competing views and alternative solutions when formulating recommendations for financial plans and forecasts.Share business expertise to help others implement and execute their goals.Work with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and goal attainment.Drive improvements in data management through automation.Understand the interconnections between data, information, and results and translate this into forward looking narratives and forecasts.Provide clarity and alignment with leaders.Implement creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings.Generate actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons.Coach team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights.Facilitate a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situations.Drive the right tone from executive leadership and ensure strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance.Influence leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization.Direct team and hold others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed.Guide team and encourage others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate.Drive a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust.Advocate, educate, and promote best practices and new developments.Champion Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards.Advance key compliance initiatives.Other: Embody our Culture and Values.
