Job DescriptionIs responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews under his/her directionUnderstands and communicates Prince safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety trainingOversees and coordinates the activities of field employeesAssesses competency and capability of employees on the project, and evaluates the capabilities of the crew membersRecognizes and addresses issue/problems that may arise among crew members and provides effective resolutionsAccountable for following project plans and schedules, ensuring that crews perform activities to meet production goalsIdentifies needs and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates these to the appropriate personsTranslates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan for each crewReviews and adjusts specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production schedulesInspects work site to determine sequencing and method of pipe installation and survey for potential hazards or safety concernsIdentifies, verifies and reports any scheduling conflicts with other crews and subcontractors to the appropriate personsAccountable for the preparation of reports as required by PrinceApproves material requisitionsMaintains employee time reportingJob RequirementsMust possess three (3) to five (5) years in heavy highway construction with knowledge of project construction scope and objectives to include, but not limited to the layout, assembly and installation of large drain pipes and culvertsAbility to read drawings and interpret specifications for the projectMust possess a strong knowledge of scheduling and planningMust have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skillsMust possess excellent time management skillsMust possess a clean Florida driver's licenseMust be able to stand, kneel, walk, lift, bend, stoop, push and pullMust be able to work on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per weekAll work is performed outdoors in Florida heat and rain; and around heavy highway traffic areasThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
