$50,000 – $52,000The Greenway Conservancy, the non-profit responsible for the management and care of The Greenway, is seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our team as the Programs Coordinator. The Programs Coordinator will assist in organizing, permitting, managing, and executing the Conservancy’s robust programming calendar and is instrumental in building and growing partnerships with event organizers.Millions visit The Greenway each year for community events, local markets, unique food truck meals, beautiful horticulture, and engaging art. The Conservancy’s programming approach is to host partner events, allowing us to work with a wide range of community groups and small businesses to bring hundreds of relevant and authentic events to the public. The Programs team works very closely with all Conservancy departments to assure an outstanding visitor experience. The Greenway hosts 400+ free events and programs annually, including but not limited to Chinatown Main Street Festival, Lantern Festival, My Caribbean One World Expo, Films at the Gate, Boston Local Food Festival, and over 200 free fitness classes. Lead several ongoing event series, including music series like Jazz in the Park, Chinatown events, markets, and neighborhood events/festivals. Act as the main point of communication for event partners: handle day-to-day questions, monitor for compliance, and assist with marketing and scheduling. Other areas of responsibility may be determined based on candidate experience and in collaboration with the team.Lead additional programs and festivals as assigned. This includes explaining the event planning process to new partners and assisting with permitting, fees, layouts, compliance, marketing and scheduling, ongoing communication, and event staffing.Provide on-site support for Conservancy and third party events, such as festivals, promotions/sampling events, and filmings and photo shoots as needed, including set-up and tear-down on-site.Work outdoors, handle physical tasks, and conduct work with the utmost professionalism and concern for everyone encountered.Oversee a range of programmatic logistics, including signage placement and equipment ordering.Assist in oversight and tracking of event proposals, fee payments, and event attendance.Learn and enforce the Park Use Guidelines and Park Rules, both in event planning processes and in the park, balancing park needs with event needs.Other duties as assigned related to the Conservancy’s mission or to support partners or stakeholders.Skills and Qualifications

Experience working at or studying in a related field, including nonprofit programming or event management.Proven track record of:

Working with a diverse range of audiences and organizations;Meeting/surpassing goals;Succeeding in a fast-paced and innovative environment.

Demonstrated skill in creative problem-solving, can-do attitude, and staying calm under pressure.Strong written and oral communication skills. Bilingual skills are a plus, especially in Chinese languages given our programs in the Chinatown neighborhood.Computer proficiency, especially in Google for Work (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) and Microsoft (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Ability to work outside in all types of weather, to kneel or stand for periods of time, and to lift 50 pounds, which are all needed for event oversight.Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive Conservancy vehicles in downtown Boston to move event supplies.Logistics

This is a full time (40 hours a week) position with full benefits.Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, but a significant amount of weekend and evening work is needed between April and October to be present at events and programs. Comparable time off within the pay week is often possible.Work will generally take place indoors in the office, but the position will require a significant amount of time in the parks, especially between April and October, in all weather conditions.This is a hybrid position with the option to work remotely two days a week if the work allows.Compensation and benefits$50,000-$52,000/yearThe Greenway Conservancy offers competitive benefits including:
