Community Associate Shift Supervisor

Shift Supervisors will provide and oversee on-site trauma-informed social service delivery at city sanctuary hotels throughout New York City. Working cooperatively with hotel operations and security staff, shift supervisors will welcome and engage migrant and asylum-seeking single adults, families with children or adult families (without children). Supervisors will manage daily social service operations and provide on-the-ground support and supervision for community associates who are responsible for completing culturally sensitive assessments and making referrals.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for

Community Associate Shift Supervisor : Based on experience. Pay commensurate with experience.

Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Community Associate Shift Supervisor Responsibilities Include:

Overseeing social services operations and seamless transitions from one shift to the nextSupervising and supporting community associates, including reviewing complete assessmentsEnsuring that community associates provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed servicesEnsuring appropriate staff coverage and monitoring attendanceIntervening in crises and counseling clients as neededPlanning and troubleshooting with operations and security staffCoordinating interpretation and translation servicesTroubleshooting with NYC Department of Education (DOE)Troubleshooting with the Mayor's Office of Immigration Affairs (MOIA)Providing coverage for community associate staff as neededMeeting with operations and security staff for planning and site managementManaging and documenting incidentsManaging and updating rosters and attendancePerforming other job-related duties as assigned

Community Associate Shift Supervisor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Bachelor's degree or two years of relevant social services experience with vulnerable populations. Preferred: Master's degree in social work or related field + two years of relevant experience working with asylum seekers.Strong understanding of trauma and its manifestations, as well as experience delivering trauma-informed culturally sensitive servicesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure and within prescribed timelinesStrong organizational leadership skillsAbility to work independently and manage a teamWorking knowledge of immigration laws and proceduresStrong understanding of child development, child welfare, and education requirementsFluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) preferred2+ years experience supervising social services staff in delivering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed services, desiredSolid understanding of immigration laws, regulations, procedures, and benefits/entitlementsExperience working on-site in a congregate housing settingExperience working with the NYC Department of Education and Administration for Children's Services' child welfare systemsMust pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
