DescriptionThe Development Coordinator is an integral support role, providing administrative and programmatic support to select members of the Major Gifts-Cross-Cutting team in the Mass General Development Office. The Cross-Cutting team is charged with fundraising for several areas within Mass General, such as research, health equity, community health, and healthcare education. The Coordinator will support the Senior Managing Director who oversees a 30-person team and the Senior Director for International Programs and Activities. The Coordinator will handle calendars and meeting logistics, select tasks for events, process business expenses and make travel arrangements when needed. Also, the Coordinator will track fundraising actions and activities in a donor database and prepare and distribute related reports.As a Coordinator, you will work alongside fellow management support professionals, or "MSPs," who hold similar support roles in the department. Development MSPs are talented, dynamic and valued colleagues who serve as partners and collaborators in teams across the department. We strongly believe that a team of diverse identities, experiences, opinions, and perspectives drives creativity, innovation, and excellence.General ResponsibilitiesManage the calendars of assigned individuals, keeping them free of scheduling conflicts.Prepare for travel events, meetings, appointments and presentations, including coordinating logistics, preparing agendas and other materials, taking notes and organizing follow up actions as needed.Write and/or review correspondence and other materials and interpret information necessary to draft responses.Support donor stewardship efforts, including tracking deadlines, drafting report content and managing online portal submissions.Prepare and regularly update planning documents and progress reports.Make travel arrangements (domestic and international), when needed, including preparing itineraries, troubleshooting and resolving differences, and submitting related expenses.Conduct basic prospect identification and research activities, working with Prospect Management and Research colleagues to collect relevant information about donors.Gather and record data and action items in a donor database, ensuring thorough documentation of fundraising activity and results.Complete booking forms for gifts and pledges in a timely manner with thorough backup information.Assist with daily administrative activities.Participate in professional development opportunities, including taking advantage of shadowing opportunities when appropriate.Contribute to maintaining positive office morale, even in the face of high work volume and challenging periods.Assist the team with recruitment activities for vacancies.Take on other office-wide duties as needed.Adhere to the mission, credo, and standards of behavior of Mass General.QualificationsThis position requires 1-2 years of work experience. A college degree is preferred but not required.
