The Professional Development Assistant provides administrative and clerical support in all areas of professional development: orientation, professional development (internal and external), and mandatory retraining. The position provides administrative coordination of day-to-day activities of the Professional Development unit; implements structures to support and document training in all departments; conducts assigned training courses; and participates in developing unit goals, objectives and systems.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide support for professional development trainers including class reminders, space/materials preparation, and paperwork collection.Provide oversight of professional development materials, curriculum notebooks, equipment, supplies and training spaces, including room arrangements.Serve as professional development registrar, including customer service (LMS helpdesk) and LMS system management (class loading, registration, and class closing based on class sign-in sheets).Maintain training documentation.Provide training, including LMS training and other courses commensurate with skills and knowledge such as CPR, First Aide, Cultural Competence and Communication, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), and Characteristics and Needs of Individuals Served (trainer training provided).Participate in developing unit goals, objectives and systems.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent2 years administrative experience including experience with a Learning Management System or database managementExperience in training, teaching or public speakingSKILLS and COMPETENCIES:Skills in data entry and database useAbility to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and public speakingOrganizational skills and attention to detailEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
