If you want to grow personally and professionally, we'd like to know: Are you FIS?About the roleIn this Corporate Counsel role, you will manage legal business matters to protect the enterprise's rights as it relates to employment law and human resources matters. You will work closely with the human resources management teams as well as senior management and external counsel to ensure that the company's employment practices are in accordance with the law. You will also draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and documents, such as offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, and employee handbooks. You will be involved in internal investigations, employee relations matters, employee and executive compensation and benefits matters, and ethics matters. As part of a legal team with 200 attorneys and paraprofessionals, your focus will be on employment law, corporate compliance, employment litigation support, and transaction support.About the teamThe FIS Legal team is comprised of approximately 200 attorneys and paraprofessionals worldwide who enjoy being an advisor to and partner with our businesses to help the company achieve its goals. We work collaboratively with each other and with our business colleagues to solve problems in an effective and pragmatic manner. We view our role as one of supporting our business leaders in a variety of legal matters, and we strive to assist our businesses in meeting their objectives with sound, reasonable, and well-considered legal counsel.What you will be doingProviding legal advice and guidance to the enterprise and its business units on a wide range of employment law and human resources matters, such as human resources policies, employee compensation and benefits, employee ethics matters, disputes, investigations, compliance, and litigation.Performing legal research and analysis on employment law issues, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Handling employment-related complaints and litigation, human resources regulatory compliance, separations and settlements, hiring and compensation negotiations, and managing corporate business practices as it relates to employment law and employment practices.Provide practical, solution-oriented legal and strategic counsel to executives and colleagues on strategy, risk assessment, negotiations, and execution as it relates to employee-related matters.Identify, evaluate, and address complex and strategic legal issues.What you bringRequires a law degree, such as a Juris Doctor or other comparable degree. Must be admitted to practice law in the appropriate jurisdiction.Six (6) or more years of legal experience with a primary focus in labor and employment law in a corporate in-house or law firm environment.Excellent knowledge of US employment laws and regulations, such as Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, NLRA, and EEO.Strong communication, research, writing, and analytical skills, including drafting of general commercial documents, such as offer letters, separations, and litigation documentation, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to review and evaluate multi-faceted issues and counsel business colleagues on complex legal questions relating to various labor and employment issues.A high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality, and be able to handle sensitive and complex employment matters with discretion and sound judgment.Experience advising clients in a complex, diversified, global organization.Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced business environment and driving complex projects to completion.What we offer youAt FIS, we hire the best. The pay range for this full-time position is $138,600.00 - $232,850.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay.
