Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our Electrical team in Albany, NY!From load analysis to the development of complex electrical systems with an emphasis on green building design, Colliers Engineering & Design provides a full range of electrical engineering services that improve functionality and performance in your building. Our electrical engineers are experienced in a wide range of projects, including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, fire alarms, and security and access control systems.We partner with clients to develop solutions that enhance functionality and performance. Our competencies include voltage classes from 120V to 765kV, generating plant and substation design and implementation, substation equipment upgrades, relay and protection upgrades, ARC Flash studies, renewable design and implementation/interconnection, distribution system upgrades, water and wastewater system designs, building electrical upgrades, and more.

Responsibilities

Assist in the architectural application of electrical engineering, including power systems, lighting design, generator design, and campus electrical infrastructure.Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques and procedures, using knowledge of building codes and regulations to create/modify designs and drawings.Participate in design development.Create electrical specification packages.Verify that all design aspects comply with local codes and apply code provisions.Assist in the development of project proposals, client presentations, and attend client meetings.Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations and document findings.Assist in research related to material qualities, feasibility, and restrictions.Suggest new ideas and processes, stay informed of developments in practice areas, and view obstacles as opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 8+ years of electrical (architectural) design experience, specifically with industrial project design.Electrical PE license is a plus but not required.Proficient in AGI Lighting Software and REVIT preferred.A passion for power and lighting design, power system studies, and low and medium voltage design.Experience working in CAD.Ability to research code provisions, products, and material information.Ability to coordinate information exchange between clients, project managers, and project teams.Willingness to mentor new designers and/or interns.Able to be a team player and work independently.Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions.Compensation: $100,422 - $119,502 DOQ.
