You will help STRATTEC to be a pioneer by working closely with the largest automotive customers in the world along with the largest electronic partners.SUMMARYThe Senior Manager - Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling role will lead our organization's engineering and tooling groups for die-cast, stamping, plating, automated assembly, and robotics by providing innovative solutions, simplifying and standardizing processing, and driving cost improvement initiatives. This leader will deliver the best cost solutions for zinc high-pressure die-cast and metal stamping manufacturing processes, further develop processing expertise within manufacturing, solidify the equipment preventative maintenance program, and identify/develop new leading-edge manufacturing technology.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hands-on leader who methodically and effectively brings together teams to drive bottom-line financial and KPI results through all areas of the manufacturing operation.Create a vision and deploy a transformational change that includes improvements in manufacturing technology and processing methods, elimination of non-value-added process steps, optimization of existing processes, and standardized designs that reliably deliver high-quality products at the best cost.Streamline new tool build process by leveraging core competencies and simplifying business processes.Increase speed to market and ensure on-time new product launches by growing new tooling, building capacity and throughput, creating collaborative launch processes, and standardizing tooling designs.Identify and proactively plan for potential changes in demand, resource availability, extended tooling repairs, and supply shortages to minimize impact on our customers, associates, and financial performance.Ensure new product launches are executed on time and within budget with reliable and stable processes.Ensure consistency in how manufacturing processes are engineered, documented, and sustained by developing standardized process designs, process specifications, and structured business systems.Align with key stakeholders to create innovative solutions and execution plans to drive the completion of improvement activities with urgency.Leverage lean concepts and industry benchmarks such as visual factory, standard work, error proofing, single piece flow, Six Sigma, kaizen, TPM, and Industry 4.0 to simplify the organization and eliminate decisions in the design, manufacture, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting processes.Specify and request capital equipment budget and estimates that achieve the best cost, process reliability, and volume/timing requirements to obtain the optimum solution.Develop collaborative partnerships with new product development & provide design input/support.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will have supervisory responsibilities for both salary and bargaining unit associates which will include interviewing, training, creating challenging objectives, planning/prioritizing work, appraising performance, providing candid/constructive feedback, development planning, succession planning and working with human resources to address all disciplinary/associate issues as necessary.Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree from an engineering discipline.Experience managing a high-performing tool room team with an emphasis on CNC, EDM, grinding, tooling design/assembly of diecast and stamping components.Experience with die casting, stamping, and/or plating processing.Solid die casting and stamping backgrounds emphasizing hands-on process improvement & optimization, new product launches, GD&T, and preventative maintenance.Understand lean and 6 Sigma concepts and apply them to a manufacturing environment.Collect, analyze & interpret data to develop insightful solutions in a clear & concise format.Strong knowledge of OEM customer expectations, quality standards, and relationship management.Ability to influence others through good communication skills.The ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment while developing your direct reports.STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION is an equal opportunity employer and practices affirmative action to recruit, hire, train, upgrade, transfer and promote persons in all job titles without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
