It occupies seven buildings (both on and off-campus) with more than 40,000 assignable square feet; within those buildings are eight classrooms and more than 100 offices.The Berkeley Risk & Security Lab (BRSL) at the UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy is an academic research center focused on the intersection of technology and security.Position SummaryBerkeley Risk and Security Lab is seeking a team member to help grow the lab by expanding its administrative capacity, supporting research projects, and representing the Laboratory to key partners and constituents under the oversight of the FD and LD.Application Review DateThe First Review Date for this job is: 08/07/2024.ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will collaborate with the Faculty Director and Lab Director for BRSL to support the BRSL research portfolio.The incumbent will work to support all constituencies in exercises, including scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics, booking travel, managing reimbursements, preparing briefing materials, and managing facility needs.The incumbent will have responsibility for routinely assigned financial reconciliation work, as related to BRSL finances and operations.The incumbent will undertake activities supporting BRSL programs, workshops, and conferences.The incumbent will support the BRSL research apprenticeship program and manage graduate and undergraduate students and postdocs engaged in this effort.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsThorough knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and procedures of building and maintaining effective relations with students, faculty, and internal and key constituencies.Demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Skill in project management, including event planning and meeting deadlines.Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.Salary & BenefitsThis is a 18 month, full-time (40 hours/week), contract appointment, eligible for UC benefits with the possibility of extension with continued funding.
