GENERAL FUNCTION : Under the supervision of the ELC Senior Program Director, this position is responsible for the management of the Early Learning Center, related programs and special events for early childhood participants and families. This is a 40 hour a week position.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Requirements:
Degree and/or credential in Child Development or Early Childhood or a BA or BS degree in related field with 12 college credit hours in early childhood
Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) Program Director Approval (PDA) for up to 100 infant/toddler/preschool/school-age children
Three years of experience working with children birth to six years of age
Experience supervising adults and working with collaborative agencies
CPR, AED, First Aid certification or acquire within 30 days of hire
Must attend NEO within 30 days of hire
Physical/Mental Requirements :
Visual, auditory and verbal ability to communicate effectively
High levels of alertness, concentration and initiative
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend in addition to withstanding periods of active routines outside
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of the Wichita YMCA
Attend YMCA staff meetings, one-on-ones with supervisor, community meetings and trainings as required
Provide daily contact with staff on site
Hold parent meetings, volunteer focus sessions and post weekly schedule for parents/staff/guardians
Assist in implementing quality curriculum
Train staff in specific programming techniques, completing accreditation, and subject areas
Ensure all staff, including self, meet KDHE training requirements annually
Ensure compliance with all KDHE regulations, partnership agreement, grants and all state and federal funding guidelines
Provide the necessary equipment, supplies and resources for use by staff in implementing curriculum
Maintain daily parent/guardian contact
Complete monthly reports as requested including: CACFP report, attendance, and assessment reports
Develop and manage the site budget
Complete all necessary paperwork for KDHE licensing, inspections, and changes
Know and follow all applicable YMCA policies concerning required paperwork/forms
Maintain a regular, posted work schedule Monday through Friday during program operating hours
Inform corporate office when there is a need to advertise for staff
Recruit, hire and train ELC staff, and when needed, terminate staff
Manage all operational staffing issues
Maintain clean, organized office and ELC site
Follow up on maintenance issues with Branch Director and ELC Senior Program Director
Implement character development on a daily basis with all staff and participants
Elicit a positive attitude and enthusiasm for your staff
Share all concerns and complaints directly to ELC Senior Program Director
All other duties as assigned
