OPPORTUNITY

Environmental Incentives (EI) is seeking mission-driven individuals with experience in climate risk management to provide short-term technical assistance for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).This is an open call for Climate Risk Management consultants. This position is for consultants with a specialty in Climate Risk Management and geographic focus on the Middle East, Asia, and/or Africa.We will review your submission on a rolling basis and should your background match future positions, you will be contacted to apply for the open position. Our remote staff and consultants are based in multiple states within the United States, and across five continents.POSITION EXPECTATIONS

The Climate Risk Management Consultant(s) will be expected to work independently and as part of multiple teams to conduct required and recommended climate risk assessments of USAID activities as well as to assess the risk of climate change to ongoing and new infrastructure designs. While mostly remote, some opportunities may request short-term in-person technical assistance in various countries around the world. The successful consultant will have demonstrated expertise in climate risk management approaches, in incorporating climate risk management into development activities, and in identifying and communicating the importance of climate risk mitigation. The consultant will also have expertise in building the capacity of partners and teams to incorporate climate risk management into design, planning, and implementation of development endeavors.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental mitigation, or other related fields and 5 years of relevant experience.Demonstrated professional experience in climate risk management.Experience providing analysis of water and infrastructure projects.Experience identifying potential development opportunities associated with current and expected climatic and meteorological changes, including chances to achieve additional development objectives (including increasing climate resilience and reducing greenhouse gas emissions).Experience independently translating technical content into actionable products for different audiences and users, both technical and non-technical.Experience with and/or knowledge of USAID programming, approaches, and policy.Experience in the water/wastewater sector, geographic focus Middle East - for immediate STTA opportunity.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated communication and coordination techniques.Clarity of thought and effective communication (verbal, written, visual) in English.Exceptional listening and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office suite.Demonstrated ability to work across many sectors in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Proficiency in Arabic.Additional Requirements

Eligible for USAID facility access or security clearance.BASE STATION
